Winning Ways

Team Momentus is made up of three students from the Gryphon school, Sherborne.

The team has gone from strength to strength, competing in the competition which involves designing and producing a C02 powered balsa wood model F1 car.

Team Momentus began when team manager, Matt Bugler, design engineer, Tom Long, and graphic designer, Nathan Riley decided to have a go at designing a scale model F1 car for the schools competition. 

The team made it through to the 2007 national F1 in schools championships at which they won Best team website, Best presentation, Overall 16-18 age group and the grand title of UK F1 in schools champions 2007.

The competition has given the team several great opportunities, including scholarships to Exeter university, tickets to the Silverstone Grand Prix with VIP pit passes, a private tour of the Honda F1 factory and last but not least the chance to represent the UK in the F1 in schools international finals held in Malaysia in March 2008.
