Team Dorset has been developed as an associated brand to Team South West, the brand for the South West England Directorate for the 2012 Games - an organisation funded and supported by the South West Regional Development Agency and Sport England South West.

All Dorset organisations are able to join Team Dorset - businesses, councils, schools and colleges, public service bodies, community and voluntary groups - on the understanding that they are committed to the Team Dorset ethos.

The Team Dorset ethos is a set of shared values that will manifest itself in different ways in different types of organisations, for example, it could mean improved service delivery, up-skilled work force, increased employment, more vulunteers, improved partnership working, sector development, or business growth. However it manifests itself, the legacy goals for each organisation will be set by that organisation. By joining Team Dorset an organisation commits to:

• Working to deliver a discernable and lasting legacy for itself or the community or Dorset or any combination of these three by using the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games as a catalyst for accelerant of change.
• Working from time to time, in a single or range of partnerships with other like minded organisations in Team Dorset.
• Sharing, from time to time, knowledge and experience (except that which is commercial in confidence) with other like minded organisations in Team Dorset.
• Being an ambassador or champion for Team Dorset and Building Legacy Together.
• Using the Team Dorset brand within the current brand usage and guidelines.
