NEW YEAR, NEW JOB: Junior Marketing and Office Support RT Promotions is a small but ambitious business providing promotional giveaways, corporate merchandise and branded work-wear to customers all over the country. We are looking for a new team member who will support our office and be responsible for some marketing activities.

Job Title: Junior Marketing and Office Support

Salary: £16,000 pa

Job Type: Full time, permanent

Location: Lytchett Matravers, Nr Poole, Dorset 


RT Promotions is a small but ambitious business providing promotional giveaways, corporate merchandise and branded work-wear to customers all over the country. We print and personalise anything from pens and notepads to t-shirts and sweets (and many other weird and wonderful things too!). We operate in a very competitive market place but the one thing that makes us different… Customer Service.

The Role 
Due to the growth of our business and some very exciting internal projects, we are looking for a bright spark to join our team. This person will be responsible for the following areas:

General office support 
Including welcoming visitors, answering the phone, organising the post, assisting with business admin, following our processes for managing work from initial enquiry to delivery to customers, maintaining stock levels and packaging up samples and even making a mean cuppa!  

Assisting with quotations 
The candidate will assist our two Account Managers with research, building quotations and ensuring accuracy. 

Updating our new website 
We have an all-new website launching in 2019, and so this role is pivotal to the continued success and smooth running of our online presence. The candidate will be trained in how to add new content and editing existing content, update pricing and images. Our testimonials and news will need adding to the site too. 

Creating and sending e-shots  
Using a super user-friendly platform, the candidate will be responsible for sending timely, accurate and beautiful e-shots that not only inform but entice purchasers to make contact. There is a requirement to plan ahead and work within set brand and sales guideline. Training will be provided.  

Updating the CRM (database) 
The candidate will be given training to use our Customer Record Management system too, and it will be their responsibility to use it at all stages of the sales process to ensure the smooth running of the business


Skills and Attributes
Our new team member will bring with them:

  • At least 3 years’ experience of working in a small team in a fast-paced office environment
  • A customer focused attitude, with the ability to make others feel like nothing is too much trouble
  • Confident and wide-ranging IT skills on a PC 
  • Proven skills in data administration and data entry
  • Great attention to detail, often under tight deadlines in a pressured environment
  • The ability to effectively manage workload and competing deadlines
  • An exceptional ‘can do’ and positive attitude
  • A confident, friendly telephone manner with the ability to ask key questions and record accurate answers
  • Great written English skills as email communications with customers, suppliers and contacts is an everyday occurrence
  • Able to use own initiative and get stuck in!

In addition to these must haves, a process orientated brain, with a creative streak would be a superb advantage. As would experience of merchandising, online retail and sales psychology.

Training and Career Progression
We have a week-long induction process to help new team members feel comfortable in the business and help them understand the role they are responsible for. On the job training will be provided too after this with direct access to the Managing Director so you can not only learn but offer ideas and solutions too. In a small business like ours, everybody’s voice is important.
